"For us, fostering strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders and Indigenous communities is an integral part of the development of the Energy East project," wrote TransCanada spokesperson Tim Duboyce. "We regularly hold meetings with elected officials, land owners, first responders and Indigenous community members to listen to questions and concerns and to address them as best we can."
TransCanada and the NEB are afraid of Indigenous people, window-dressing their purported concerns for their relationships with them and possibly attempting to financially secure favour from those relationships and others. However, TransCanada promotes mis-truths by stating they regularly meet with landowners, listen to questions and concerns, and address them.
In each glass or tea cup, "Kluntjes" are placed and the hot tea is poured through a small strainer ... MORE over the sugar "Kluntjes," filling to half. Often, a special spoon for the cream, called a "Rohmlepel," is used to carefully add a bit of cream to the side of the cup so that a white cloud in the middle of the black tea is seen. Traditionally, the tea is drunk without stirring and the drinker comes in contact first with the bitter tea, then the milky taste towards the middle and a bit of sweetness at the end. This may have come about when sugar was so expensive that, in order for it to last over several cups of tea, it was necessary not to stir the cup.
Recent studies produced by historians Christian Booß and Helmut Müller-Enbergs also show domestic surveillance in East Germany went far beyond the Stasi's network of IMs. The two work at the BStU and not long ago, they happened across Stasi informant groups into which hardly any research has been conducted. They found that institutions in which people provided information about others were categorized as POZW -- which stood for "Partner in Political-Operative Cooperation." In contrast to IMs feeding information to the Stasi, these people were not forced to sign a document obliging them to pass along information. But they did so nonetheless. Numerous POZW reports are still in existence -- from banks, for example, or libraries, hospitals, registration offices and judiciary agencies.
